Fadia Toefy – Managing Director/Product Manager

FadiaAfter finishing school, Fadia spent a year in Germany and this is where her love for travel was born. She has since travelled extensively across Europe, the United States, the Middle East and the Far East. She also speaks a speaks conversational German.

Fadia, with her parents and brothers were very involved with running special needs camps while she was growing up. During this time, she nurtured her passion for volunteering as a team leader.

She has more than 20 years’ experience in the Tourism Industry and is responsible for the development of new programmes, as well as the ongoing management of the in-country leaders. She also oversees all current programmes ensuring the highest possible quality and ensures safety and security for all programmes.

In her free time, she loves to travel and unwind with her three beautiful children and husband.

Zaakia Mohammed – Volunteering and Social Media Co-ordinator

ZaakiaFrom a young age, Zaakia has travelled abroad and was also part of the South African Experiment in International Living in 2012. She thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with her host family in a township and taking part in the community service project. This experience as well as the time spent volunteering at a pre-school as part of her schooling, has inspired her to become a local volunteering development leader.

Zaakia is passionate about the value of volunteering and is committed to working with local and international volunteers to ensure positive impact and social cohesion in the local communities.

Hardie Toefy – Programme Leader/Director

HardieHardie is a stalwart in the tourism, travel and youth exchange industry in South Africa. His leadership and conscience over the success of programmes in South Africa has been crucial over the past 40 years. He enjoys a legendary following from past participants of his programmes from all over the world.

He provides a wealth of knowledge on South Africa, its culture and its rich history. He has led many groups across South Africa including the Summer Abroad, Experiment in International Living programmes and programmes from all around the the world.

Hardie enjoys playing golf, travelling around South Africa and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Zubeida Toefy – Volunteer Co-ordinator

Zubeida is a retired nursing sister and has been volunteering at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town for over 20 years. She provides administrative assistance as well as much needed care and compassion to volunteers and participants during their time in South Africa. Zubeida is passionate about helping other in need and contributing to a better South Africa.

Zubeida is most happy when she is helping others through her support for numerous local organizations in South Africa.
